Gardaí are continuing to piece together the events leading to a serious incident in Donegal Town last night.
Three people were hospitalised after a car struck an outdoor seating area of a bar on Tirchonaill Street, just off the Diamond.
Two women and a man, aged in their 50s & 60s, were removed from the scene to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for injuries. One woman’s injuries have been described as serious.
The scene was closed to traffic last night as emergency services dealt with the incident.
The Tirchonaill Street road remains closed this morning.
“Investigations are ongoing,” said a garda spokesperson.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to come forward to them.
Anyone who was travelling in in the area of Tirchonaill Street, Donegal Town, between 7.30pm and 8.30pm, and has video camera footage (including dash-cam) from this area at this time, is asked to make it available to Gardaí.
