It was another busy week for Buncrana Golf Club members.

The second round of the qualifying stages in the Owen McDaid (Roe) Taxi & Mini Bus Hire Winter League took place last weekend.

Although a few pairings struggled with the Greensomes format, in general the scoring was very high. Sean Mc Menamin (24) and Martin McLaughlin (29) played some of their best golf for a while to shoot a tremendous 49 pts to take the weekly prize.

Commiseration to the young pairing of Ethan Soal (22) and Dan Magee (27) who also played some fantastic golf to shoot 48 pts, a score that would have won most weekends. The Winter League qualifying will continue for the next two weekends with the format next weekend being a Scramble and then there will be a break on Saturday 28 th and Sunday 29 th October for the Annual Aileen Hallinan Memorial Open Scramble. With the flexibility of the qualifying and another four weeks remaining any pairing that missed the first two weeks of qualifying can still enter this weekend. This will be the last opportunity to enter this weekend as the entry will be closed after Sunday 15th October in order to finalise the different categories and qualifying formats.
