St Eunan’s College through to Corn na nÓg U14 last eight

The St Eunan’s College U14.5 boys are through to the Corn na nÓg quarter final after a tough fought game with St Pats of Cavan yesterday in Drumquin.

St Eunan’s College 4-10

St Pats Cavan 2-12

The College were playing against the breeze in the first half, but still managed three quickfire goals midway which left them in front at half time on a scoreline of 3-5 to 1-8.

In the second half, however, with less than 5 minutes to play and the game level, a Cathal Doherty goal and two long range frees from Ryan Buckley was what separated the teams in the end.

On a search of the history books since 1906 up in Sentry Hill, it is thought this could be Eunan’s first ever victory over the Cavan lads at any age group.

This is also only their second ever to reach a Corn na nÓg quarter final, 2011 being the last time.

Goal Scorers were Finn Nolan, Evan Duffy, Mark McGuinness (penalty) and Cathal Doherty.
