The fourth round of the qualifying stages in the Owen McDaid (Roe) Taxi & Mini Bus Hire Winter League took place last weekend.
The greens as usual are in excellent condition, running true and fast, but with some very difficult pins positions scoring was hard to come by. The best score of the weekend was 45 pts returned by the father and son combination of Jamie and Elliot Friel. Jamie (14) and Elliot (21) played some excellent golf to shoot a tremendous 45 pts which not alone secured the weekly prize but moved them into fourth place in the qualifying table. If Jamie and Elliot maintain this standard of golf they will easily qualify for the top qualifiers match play and will be hard to beat in the match play stages.
There will no Winter League this weekend as the Annual Aileen Hallinan Memorial Open Teams of 4 Scramble will be played on Saturday and Sunday. The funds raised from this competition will go to the Donegal Hospice.

Christmas Hamper Qualifying
The qualifying for the Annual Christmas Hamper has commenced and the format is as follows 0-
7 handicaps 20 pts to qualify and 8+ handicaps 21 pts to qualify. The cost will be €4.00 for the
first attempt and €2.00 thereafter. Hamper cards can be taken in conjunction with the Winter
League if the format is suitable.
Last Man Standing
The club are running a Last Man Standing which will start Saturday 4th November 2023 and
entry sheets can be got from the club office or from any committee member. The cost is €10.00
and it would be much appreciated if every member would support this fundraising initiative by
entering.
