A hugely successful community development group in south west Donegal is urgently seeking volunteers in order to ensure its future.
Glencolmcille Parish Council (Comhairle Paróiste Ghleann Cholm Cille) says if it doesn’t get more help, events such as the St Patrick’s Day Parade could be in jeopardy.
The group has been in operation since the 1930s with the aim of looking after the interests and needs of the residents of the area and to make representations to public bodies on their behalf.
They are also seeking new board members.
“The committee should have 12 members but numbers have dwindled to less than half of that,” a spokesperson said.
If you have an hour a month to spare over the winter and would like to get involved, please contact the council via their Facebook page or call Josephine on 0879328376.
