Motorists are being advised to take extra care this Monday morning due to spot flooding.

While Donegal escaped the worst of Storm Debi, heavy overnight rain has caused standing water in some areas.

Newmills, Rockhill, Glenceo and other areas such as Old Town in Letterkenny have been affected by flooding.

Local councillor Donal ‘Mandy’ Kelly said that council staff are currently working to clear the roads.

“The men are out trying to do their best for all road users,” Cllr Kelly said.

“In the meantime, please drive with care until Storm Debi passes.”
