A man was rushed to hospital after becoming the victim of a one-punch attack outside a licensed premises in Letterkenny last night.
The man, who is in his 40s, was set upon just after 10pm while he was out with friends celebrating the 12 Pubs of Christmas celebrations.
Donegal Daily understands that such was the ferociousness of the assault that the man lost a number of teeth.
The incident has been reported to Gardai who arrived on the scene and took a number of statements from witnesses.
CCTV footage has also been harvested as part of the investigation.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed they are investigating the assault.
The spokesperson added “Gardaí responded to reports of an incident of assault on Main Street, Letterkenny, Co. Donegal, last night, Tuesday 12th of December 2023 at approximately 10.30pm.
“A man (40s) was brought to Letterkenny University Hospital to be treated for injuries which are believed to be non life-threatening.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
