North-West has joint lowest number of new Garda recruits

A total of eight new Gardai are to be assigned to the North-West region from the latest batch of new graduates.

In all, 151 new Gardai were sworn in at a ceremony at the Garda Training College in Templemore, Tipperary today.

Alongside the Southern region, the North-West has the lowest allocation in the country.

Of the 151 new Gardai sworn in at a ceremony at the Garda College in Templemore, Tipperary today, 8 are due to be stationed in the North West.

Of the 151 new recruits, 115 will be stationed in the Dublin region.
