Motorists are being urged to proceed with caution as many roads around the county remain in a treacherous condition this morning.

Gardai have urged road users to travel only if necessary after overnight snow and frost.

A Yellow snow/ice warning remains in place until 11am.

“Please only travel if necessary until road conditions improve,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Stay safe and check in on elderly/vulnerable neighbours, family members and friends. Alert Gardaí if you feel that somebody is in need of our assistance.”
