A high velocity pothole filling will make a much welcome return to roads of east Donegal later this year.
The matter was raised by Councillor Patrick McGowan at this week’s meeting of the Lifford-Stranorlar Municipal District (MD).
“Following the trial deployment of a temporary mechanical pothole patching machine in this Municipal District during 2023, what is the outcome – success or otherwise – and what is the plan for 2024,” he asked.
In response, Senior Engineer Claire McGeever said it is proposed to redeploy it in May and August for a total of three weeks in the Stranorlar MD.
“The cost of the unit is significant and no additional funding has been secured,” she added.
