The work of Wild Ireland and its founder Killian McLaughlin was centre-stage at a recent London symposium.

Killian was invited to speak at an event at the Zoological Society of London, as part of the 50th anniversary of the Association of British and Irish Wild Animal Keepers.

The ABWAK is an organisation for those involved in the keeping and conservation of wild animals, “which seeks to achieve the highest standards of excellence in animal welfare through communication, cooperation, training and development.”

On social media, Wild Ireland posted that it was a “privilege” to be invited to introduce the work of their sanctuary to the audience, and their thoughts on the future of keeping animals in captivity.

Recently, a Canadian documentary team recently followed Killian and the animals at the Wild Ireland sanctuary for an upcoming programme.

You can read all about that here.
