The Termon Clean-up group has organised its annual cleanup for Easter weekend this year.
As most of the roads around Termon all lead to scenic parts of North Donegal, locals say it’s important that a good image is created for the tourists that frequent and pass through their area.
Roads like the Lough Salt Road, the Doonwell Road, the N56 to Creeslough, the Glenveagh road and other roads like the Barnes Road leading to the Standing Stones are heavily populated with tourists in the summer and as such its imperative that we present a clean image.
It’s expected that all previous volunteers will assist and new workers are welcomed as always this year.
Bags for the clean-up can be picked up in Gracies Stores or Sweenys shop.
Organisers Eddie Harkin and James Trearty are hopeful that the weather over the weekend will remain favourable for the local community to come out and assist in the cleanup.
While no specific day over the weekend is planned due to the recent adverse weather conditions, it is hoped that all roads will be covered prior to the planned pickup commencing at 6pm on Easter Monday, 1st April
Those taking part are also asked to wear hi-viz jackets and bibs and to use gloves.
