The Butt Drama Circle’s third production of the year is set to take centre-stage at the Balor Arts Theatre next week.
The group’s hilarious production of the comedy “Girls Weekend” is running from Thursday April 4th to Saturday April 6th.
Dot (Kate Boyle) and her friends Carol (Nicole Coyle), Meg (Avril Carr), along with Meg’s daughter Ellie, (Nicole Laverty) head off to Dot’s holiday home for their latest book club meeting, deciding to combine it with a Girls Weekend. Dot plans for them to read, converse, have dinner and drink wine… lots of wine. At least, that’s her plan.
Dot doesn’t bank on a blizzard leaving them snowed in, or on her friends’ respective love interests having been secretly invited along! Unknown to the rest of the group, Carol has summoned her husband Rick (Michael Given-King) to spend the night, Ellie has organised a secret date with her old flame, Bobby (Kyle McLaughlin), and Meg’s “mystery man” (Desmond Crawford) decides to show up at the house and surprise her. The result? A night of ducking, diving, and trying not to be discovered! All of which is off course topped off by a visit from the local Garda Sergeant (Rory Farrell) who get’s more than he bargained for when calls to the house.
“Girls’ Weekend” is a lightning quick farce performed by the Butt Drama Circle, directed by Rory Farrell, and written by Karen Schaeffer. This show is guaranteed to have your sides aching from laughter from start to finish, and long after the curtain falls.
The show will be running at the Balor Arts Centre from April 4th-April 6th.
Tickets are on sale now online or from the Balor Arts Centre Box Office on 074 9131840.
