Sergeant Mark Traynor from Letterkenny Roads Policing Unit signed off duty for the final time yesterday following almost 40 years of loyal service.
Those years were all spent within the Donegal Division, in Castlefin, Lifford, Carrigans, Moville, Burnfoot, Buncrana and Letterkenny.
“We, within the Donegal Division, would like to wish Mark and his family many years of good health and happiness in the future,” a garda spokesperson said.
“It has been an absolute pleasure to have worked alongside you Mark. You will be missed by us all at Letterkenny Garda Station. Enjoy the well deserved rest and don’t be a stranger! Happy retirement.”
