Ballybofey man accused of trespassing and damaging house

A young Ballybofey man has appeared in court charged with trespassing at a house and causing damage to it.

Darragh Darby appeared at Letterkenny District Court on a number of charges.

The 23-year-old, of Cois na Finne, Glenfin Road, was represented by solicitor Frank Dorrian.

He faces a total of four charges.

They include that on March 31st, 2024 at Ard McCarron, Ballybofey, did damage a window latch and lock belonging to another person intending to damage such property or being reckless as to wether such property would be damaged.

He is also charged with another count of criminal damage by allegedly damaging the rear door of the same property.

On the same date and location he is charged that he did trespass on a building in such a manner as caused or was likely to cause fear in another person.

He is also charged with a related charge that he did enter the curtilage of the same building.

Garda Sergeant Gerard Dalton told Judge Eiteain Cunningham that they did not yet have directions in the case.

The case was adjourned to June 10th for directions from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Legal aid was granted to Mr Dorrian.
