Gardai have expressed concern over a number of begging incidents in Ballybofey.
A number of people, many of them elderly, have been approached in car parks in the area.
They have been offered perfume for sale and in other cases they have simply been asked for money to buy fuel or for other reasons.
Gardai say they are concerned by this and want to speak to anybody who may have been approached in this manner.
A Garda spokesperson said “We ask people to please contact Gardaí immediately if they are approached in this manner. Never buy goods in this manner on the street.
“We also ask people to give their money/donations to a registered charity if they wish to rather than handing over money to a stranger.”
