A new documentary on Seamus Coleman is heading back to Killybegs to tell the story of the Irish footballer’s rise to legendary status.

Everton FC has teased the release of ‘SEAMUS’ – a feature-length account of their captain and highest ever Premier League appearance holder.

We don’t have a premiere date just yet, but the good news is that it will be available for everyone to watch on Everton’s YouTube channel “soon”.

The documentary delves back into Seamus’ roots in Killybegs. Through interviews with family, teachers, and grassroots coaches, a surprising revelation about Seamus’ early sporting passion is unveiled.

The programme explores Seamus’ move to Sligo Rovers, his development under manager Paul Cook, and how former Everton scout Mick Doherty first spotted his talent. Teammates from those early days share their memories, and the then-club secretary provides an insider’s perspective on Seamus’ famous bargain £60,000 transfer to Goodison Park.

Former managers David Moyes and Ian Holloway offer their recollections of working with Seamus at Everton and Blackpool, respectively. Close friend Leighton Baines sheds light on Seamus’ success and popularity with the Everton fanbase. Current teammates Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Idrissa Gana Gueye share previously untold stories about the impact of their captain, who has accumulated a remarkable trophy haul and over 420 appearances for the Blues – a number set to grow with his recent contract extension.

There is even a word from Michael D. Higgins, the President of Ireland, who discusses what impresses him most about the nation’s skipper.

Watch the trailer above and subscribe to Everton’s official YouTube channel, switching on notifications to ensure you don’t miss the Premiere of SEAMUS.
