Anger at latest dumping incident at Portsalon Pier

A swimmer visiting Portsalon Pier at the weekend has expressed their disgust at the latest illegal dumping incident there.

The woman had gone to the beauty spot yesterday morning only to find household rubbish strewn around the place.

“Once more the dumping of rubbish comes to the fore. This was the spectacle at the pier in Portsalon this morning when I went for a swim,” they said.

“Not only do people have no regard for their environment or others, but there are no bins for public use in the pier area. The one in the photo is provided by the shop which only opens at the weekends. The rubbish is household rubbish and is an eyesore.”

Illegal dumping can be reported directly to Donegal County Council HERE or to the National Environmental Complaints Line on 1800 365 123 (24 hours).
