Golf: Gerry wins the Open Stableford at Buncrana and Siobhan wins the car!

It’s a busy time at Buncrana Golf Club.

Gerry Vaughan is showing he still has what it takes on the course while Siobhan McLaughlin had all the luck when she scooped the Hyundai i30 N-Line car in the Drive It Home draw.

Gerry Vaughan Wins Again

The competition last weekend was the Liam, Brendan, Patsy & Robert Doherty (Toland) Brothers Memorial Open Stableford which was sponsored by the Doherty (Toland) Family. The best score of the weekend was returned by in the in form Gerry Vaughan (23) who took his second competition win in three weeks. Gerry is playing some very consistent golf at present and shot 23 pts over the front 9 and backed it up with another 22 pts over the back 9. This performance gave Gerry his winning total of 45 pts and 4 pts clear of his nearest rivals. The full results of the Doherty (Toland) Brothers Memorial Open Stableford played Saturday 7th & Sunday 8th September are as follows;

Upcoming Fixtures

Saturday 14th & Sunday 15th September – The Sean Mc Laughlin Memorial Open Stableford – Sponsored By the Excelsior Bar Buncrana.

Saturday 21st & Sunday 22nd September – Illies Football Club Open Stableford. This is a fund raising competition for the Illies Football Club and a good turnout from the local golfing fraternity would be much appreciated.

The Evan Doherty Milk Club Match Play Singles

Due to the inclement weather conditions overt the past few weeks the deadline has been extended for the first round group matches, which now have to be finalised by Monday 16th September. Anyone who has committed to playing in this competition please either play your match or remove your name.
