A family in Ramelton has been left devastated by the discovery of vandalism to a loved one’s grave.

The incident at St. Mary’s Church Graveyard in Ramelton is believed to have occurred on Friday, 26th July, between 10 am and 11 am, when a grave surround within the graveyard was found damaged.

It was reported to gardaí in Milford several weeks after it was discovered.

Gardaí are now investigating the criminal damage incident and are appealing to the public for any information that may help them identify those responsible.

“This is a very upsetting incident for the family involved and we are very anxious to progress the matter,” said a garda spokesperson.

“If anybody has relevant information we ask them to make contact with Gardaí in Milford on 074-9153060.”
