Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses following a collision in which a Clonmany pensioner lost his life last week.

Mr Michael Toland, a father-of-three who was aged in his 80s, died after being struck by a van at Annagh crossroads at around 6.20pm on Wednesday last.

“Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward,” a spokesperson said.

“Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with any information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station on 074-932 0540 , the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.”
