Errigal College is excited to invite prospective 5th and 6th class pupils and their families to its annual Open Night on Thursday, 21st November.

The evening will run from 5:15 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and it is a unique opportunity for pupils and parents to experience first-hand what makes Errigal College a standout choice for their secondary school education.

Principal Danny McFadden and the dedicated staff at Errigal College are eager to showcase the school’s unique blend of academic excellence and supportive community spirit.

“Our Open Night is about building a connection,” he explains.

“We want each young person and their family to leave with a clear vision of the support, resources, and opportunities they’ll have here at Errigal College. We are not just a school; we are a community committed to helping each student achieve their full potential.”

On the tour, families will get a chance to visit our state-of-the-art STEM lab, the wide range of practical rooms, and the newly renovated canteen area.

Following on from the guided tour, parents will attend the principal’s address while the pupils will have the opportunity to sample some of the exciting subjects on offer at Errigal College such as; Coding, Engineering, Home Economics, Graphics, Wood Technology, Science, Music and Art!

Errigal College takes pride in offering a balanced curriculum designed to foster both academic and personal growth to all students. Girls and boys have the opportunity to study a wide selection of subjects across Junior and Senior Cycles – including newly introduced Leaving Certificate subjects in Computer Science and Physical Education. The school equips students with the skills and knowledge they need for future success, whether in higher education or their chosen careers. Supporting this curriculum is a robust system of academic mentoring and monitoring, which ensures every student has the guidance they need to excel.

Beyond the classroom, Errigal College is known for its vibrant extracurricular activities. From football, rugby, and basketball to music, dance, and drama, students have a variety of outlets to explore their passions, build confidence, and develop essential life skills. The school also places great emphasis on student wellbeing, with a peer mentoring initiative that pairs senior students with first years and a dedicated induction programme to ensure a smooth, supported transition into secondary school life.
