Charlie and the late Lottie Reid were recognised for their contribution to Donegal rallying at the recent Irish Motorsport Awards in Dublin.

The Reid name is synonymous with motorsport in Donegal, with the hugely popular couple and their children all involved in the activity here over the years.

Hugely influential in organising the famous Donegal international rally, Charlie and Lottie have taken on almost every role in organising events for decades.

Their dedication and tireless work over the years was recognised last Wednesday at the Champions of Irish Motorsport Awards Ceremony. Motorsport Ireland President, Aiden Harper, presented Karl Reid (below) with the FIA Volunteers Pin on behalf of his parents.

Karl Reid receives the FIA Presidents award from MI President Aiden Harper, on behalf of his parents Charlie and Lottie Reid for their dedication to Motorsport in Donegal over the years.

The FIA Volunteer Pin is an award of recognition of a person’s contribution as a volunteer to Irish Motorsport.

The Reid family, along with members of Donegal Motor Club, travelled to Dublin for the event.
