Donegal Ladies take share of the spoils in first League match

Donegal’s Senior Ladies footballers took home a point from their first game in the 2025 National League.

With eyes set on promotion from Division 2, the Donegal Ladies side faced a tough away fixture against Clare.

In the first competitive fixture for new manager James Daly, a strong first half saw Donegal open a three-point lead at one point, eventually heading into the half-time break ahead by 0-05 to 0-03.

An early second-half goal from Clare left Donegal with work to do however, and it was Captain Roisin Rodgers who stepped up with a late, late point to rescue a draw for her side in a tough away fixture.

The final score in Clare was 1-04 to 0-07.

Donegal will hit the road again next weekend, with their next League fixture away to Westmeath.
