Letterkenny A.C.’s Nakita Burke has been selected for a prestigious international road race.

She will be part of an Ulster and NI team headed to the Armagh International Road Race in February.

Fellow Donegal athlete Eilish Flanagan of Finn Valley AC will also be a part of the four-runner women’s team.

Here are this week’s Letterkenny A.C. club notes in full:

Letterkenny A.C. would like to congratulate Nakita Burke on being selected for the Armagh International Road Race women’s team. This is a great honour for Nakita and a great honour for the club to have a competitor of Nakita’s calibre competing in such a high profile event.

Well done to Erin Friel, Katie Elliot and Sheldon Romeo who recently partook in the National Indoor League.

L.A.C. would like to send best wishes to the club’s senior women’s team who are attending the European Club Cross Country 2025 in Albufeira in Portugal.

The team is comprised of Annmarie McGlynn, Nakita Burke, Noeleen Scanlan, Claire McGuigan and Christine Russell.

Shauna McGeehan did qualify however due to injury Shauna is unable to attend.

The team is managed by Teresa McDaid along with Herbie and support will be provided by Aidan and Pat McKenna while the team physiotherapist will be Natasha Adams.

In conjunction with St. Eunans L.A.C. will host The Black & Amber 4 Mile event on Sunday the 23rd February 2025 and the club would like to invite all levels of runners and walkers to join us in celebrating the memory of the late Aidan McGlynn who passed away in 2024.

The course will be flat, fast and chip timed.

LAC host running sessions from the Aura Leisure Centre on a Tuesday at 5.15pm and 6.30pm for interval running sessions, a Thursday evening hill run at 6pm, Saturday mornings at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday mornings at 8am for a long run.
