Donegal’s Senior Hurlers were narrowly defeated yet again in their second Christy Ring Cup game this afternoon.
They lost by just a single point at home against Wicklow in Letterkenny.
Coming off a good performance in a defeat against Derry last time out, Mickey McCann’s men again were in this contest from the beginning – Donegal entering half-time ahead by a point in this defensive battle, 0-06 to 0-05.
Scoring was slightly easier to come by in the second half, both sides trading scores in the opening 15 minutes, tied at 0-09 apiece.
Wicklow’s Padraig Boyle broke the deadlock striking the back of the net – however moments later they were down to 14 men due to a foul in the box – Luke White slotting home the penalty to level affairs again with 10 minutes to go.
However Donegal could not find a breakthrough despite the man advantage, and a late free secured the win for Wicklow – 1-11 to 1-10.
