The funeral of Eddie Friel has been told of a family man who was “quiet, gentle & good natured”.
Mr Friel, who was in his 60s, was found dead at Harbour View Drive on Sunday last.
An investigation was launched into his death and another local man has been arrested and charged in court in connection with the death.
He was laid to rest this afternoon at St Mary of the Visitation Church in Killybegs.

Local Parish Priest, Fr Colm O’Gallchoir, paid tribute to him in his homily.
“Eddie was a quiet, gentle, good-natured person who was very close to his family. Otherwise he kept very much to himself,” he said.
“He would often be seen out walking, having a good chat to himself – always very well disposed.”
Eddie was also remembered as a great lover of music, and his beloved headphones were brought to the altar alongside his coffin.
“He was close to his own family, and they always looked out for him. he would visit angela and leo regularly, with them living just around the corner from him. Indeed, yesterday week on Saturday morning, he had a good breakfast at Angela’s.
“At Christmas time he would go to Christina, and when they were going shopping, the girls would bring him along and call in to Pauline in Ballybofey. They all in their own ways cared for him, and looked out for him.”
“His nieces and nephews enjoyed him, and he enjoyed them. At one stage, they called him ‘Mr Bean’. They saw some sililarities – I think it was a particular haircut he had at that time.”
“Of course, he was known as Eddie Shoestring, because he couldn’t tie his own shoelaces.”
“It’s ironic then that in recent months, after Angela had her hip operation, it was Eddie who was tying her shoelaces.”
