Kildrum Tigers 0-1 Lagan Harps
Kildrum welcomed Lagan to Station Road this evening. Kildrum were slow to start, and Lagan took full advantage of this, with Sinead McLaughlin capitalising on a Kildrum defensive error, giving Lagan the lead. Jaqueline Lynch pulled off some great saves for Kildrum this evening, who had to stand in for our injured keeper Alisha. Kildrum came out stronger in the second half and battled hard to equalise, but it just wasn’t to be for the ladies this evening, with Lagan taking all 3 points on the night. Well done to Lagan, and thanks to Ryan Carlin, our ref for the evening. Next week’s game will be on THURSDAY away to Deele Harps.
Letterkenny Rovers 1-1 Keadue Rovers
Letterkenny Rovers welcomed Keadue Rovers in the Senior league. Roisin Lynch put Rovers 1 up after 7 minutes. Keadue grew into the game and tested Amy Doherty on two occasions. Molly Page hit the post before Keadue Rovers equalised from a long ball forward, which Caroline Sharkey made no mistake. Neither team was able to get the winner.
Bonagee United 5-0 Raphoe Town
Raphoe ladies started off the stronger side on the opening 13 minutes with attack after attack, they were forcing Bonagee back with a number of shots coming from Aimee Lafferty and Lauren O’Donnell but didn’t trouble Bonagee’s keeper, Nimah Mailey. It was on the 20th minute when Bonagee won a corner, swung in by Hannah Hopkins to find teammate Eimear Sweeney, who tapped in from close range to give the home side the lead. Just before the break, Natalie McFadden played a long-range ball over the top to find Hannah Hopkins, who went one-on-one with Raphoe keeper Aimee Gallagher, but Hannah slotted home to make it 2-0 at halftime. The second half started like it ended, with Bonagee keeping the ball moving across the field. With Bonagee pushing for a 3rd with sub Chloe Creevy coming on, she made an impact, right away by scoring from 10 yards out to increase the home side scoreline to 3. Natalie McFadden was having one of her best games of the year so far, being involved, linking up with the midfield and wingers to create attack after attack, finally getting her well-deserved goal to make it 4-0. Raphoe never gave up in any part of the pitch, battling hard throughout the game, with Vanessa McHugh coming on to start off the second half, and she made great solo runs and shot on goal, but nothing to trouble the goalie. Bonagee wrap things up with there 5th goal of the game when Orla McBride’s corner found the head of once again Eimear Sweeney to kill the game at 5-0.
Drumbar United 2-2 Fanad United
After a short break, Drumbar United Ladies returned to league action last night in a thrilling
encounter against a strong Fanad United side. Despite Fanad dominating early proceedings, it was Drumbar who struck first after just 10 minutes, as Emily Slator finished confidently against the run of play. Fanad responded with intensity, netting two quick goals, the first from Hannah Shiels and a superb second from Teresa Coll after a pinpoint cross into the box, to take a deserved halftime lead. True to their character, Drumbar’s senior ladies came out fighting in the second half. Leah Boyle came agonisingly close to an equaliser. Tactical adjustments began to pay off, with Teagan O’Reilly’s deliveries from the right creating multiple chances. One such pass released Emily Slator, who raced past the defence and slotted home her second of the night with composure to level the match. Both sides had opportunities to grab a winner in the closing stages, but the match ended in a hard-fought 2-2 draw. Well done to the team on a spirited performance!

Letterbarrow vs Drumbar United (Drumbar win)
A beautiful, warm evening up in Tymeen as Letterbarrow Celtic welcomed Drumbar for their U12 Girls league match. Drumbar hit the ground running, showing great strength and skills all over the pitch, but for some tough defending from Letterbarrow, the scoreline could have been more than the 2-0 lead Drumbar took into halftime. In the second half, once again, Drumbar took control, adding another 4 goals in the second half, leaving Letterbarrow, who never dropped their heads and kept on going, with a few half chances well saved by the Drumbar goalkeeper. A match played in good spirit and great weather. A massive thanks to Drumbar for making it a great game, and we wish you well for the rest of the season. Also thanks to George Clinton for reffing the match, and a special thanks to those who came and supported the girls.
Raphoe Town 5-0 Donegal Town
Donegal Town were the visitors to a sunny Drumineny on Tuesday evening. With the pitch in perfect condition, the Rpahoe girls got off to a great start with good interaction, but Erin McCann and Katie O’Connell forced the visitors into some defending. A quick-fire double from Mollie Tinney put the home team into the lead. Donegal were dangerous on the counterattack, but Aoife Hirrell, Clodagh Gallagher, Ciara McCrory, and Aoife Galbraith were defending well for the home team. Two cool finishes from Masie McGonagle on either side of the half gave the hosts a comfortable lead. Bethany Goudie was unlucky to see a great effort come off the post. Cannon in the Donegal goal was in good form and did well to deny Eva Hay early in the second half. The Donegal Town girls battled hard and only for a great save from Ellen O’Kane could have
scored. Emily Donnelly was rewarded for a hard-working shift when she burst through to round off the scoring. A competitive game played in good spirits. Best of luck to Donegal Town for the rest of the season. Thanks to Paddy Martin for reffing.
St Catherines 0-3 Cappry Rovers As
Group 2:
Gweedore United 1-4 Glenree
Gweedore United U12 A team welcomed Glenree F.C. to Gweedore on a glorious Tuesday evening. It was an evenly contested first half, and both sides found it difficult to get the breakthrough. However, Glenree F.C. made the breakthrough on the 17th minute when a long-range effort from Erin Caldwell flew past the Gweedore keeper, Muireann Doohan, and into the back of the net. Lily Mae Gallagher equalised just before the break in the 30th minuteto level the tie going in at the break. After the restart, Gweedore United regrouped and defended thoroughly for the first 20 minutes of the second half however, Glenree made it 2-1 in the 52nd minute when Leah Harkin slipped past the Gweedore defence and slotted the ball low past the Gweedore goalkeeper, Muireann Doohan. Gweedore Celtic vs Dunfanaghy Youths (Dunfanaghy win)
Kilmacrennan Celtic vs Keadue Rovers (Keadue win)
Keadue Rovers came away from Kilmac with a comprehensive win on a balmy Tuesday night in Lurgy Park. Keadue’s Katie Gillespie opened the scoring on 7 minutes before Hayley Carter Callaghan drilled one in for Kilmac. Fia Ham scored the next two for Keadue, leaving Kilmac trailing by 1-3 at the break. Kilmac started the second half strongly with a good goal from Eimear Gallagher. On 38 minutes, Katelyn O’Donnell used her height and bravery to score a nice header for Keadue. Fia Ham ended the game as a contest, scoring a hat trick on 41 minutes. The excellent Katie Gillespie took her second goal of the game for Keadue before Liliy Campbell completed the scoring for Keadue. Keadue were strong and well organised all over the pitch. Kilmac played some nice football in patches, with Caoimhe McKinney trying hard in defence. Hayley Callaghan Carter and Eimear Gallagher worked hard to create chances for Kilmac too. Thanks and well done to Eamonn Sheridan for refereeing the game.
Group 3:
Illistrin As 4-0 Cappry Rovers Bs
Illistrin took the points in a great game of football played under fantastic conditions in Corry Park. Illistrin took an early lead when Makenna Doherty broke through and fired low into the corner. It was soon doubled when Doherty turned provider, cutting the ball back for Ava Rice to fire home from the edge of the area. Cappry then began to grow into the game and were causing Illistrin some problems, but the Illistrin defence stood firm. Early in the 2nd half, Eve McElwaine added to the scoreline before Blathin Cheevers fired home from the edge of the box. Cappry almost pulled a goal back, but Enya Mulkearns was equal to the effort, getting down low to save. Team performance from both sides. Thanks to Sean O’Donnell for reffing, and we wish Cappry well for the rest of their season.
Lagan Harps vs Kildrum Tigers (Lagan win)
Lagan got off to a really strong start with Catherine Caldwell scoring two early goals. Caoimhe Sweeney added another. Kildrum came more into the game in the second half, with Harper Lynch-Mahon and Aine Bovaird creating problems. They struck the post and had a few shots narrowly wide. But Lagan’s experience showed with further goals from Amanda Caldwell and Emily McMahon. With a lot of U10 players on the Kildrum side, the future looks bright. Alana Hannigan also pulled off a number of good saves in the Kildrum goal.
Finn Valley Predators 0-5 Convoy Arsenal
A five-star display from Scarlett Barnett, who grabbed all 5 goals, ensured victory for Convoy against Finn Valley Predators. The Predators started well with Amy Cooper firing just over after linking up with Cerys Canning. Convoy fought their way into the game and hit the woodwork twice through Holly Patton and Grace Carlin. The visitors took the lead just before halftime when Scarlet Barnett scored a long-range effort after a well-worked corner. Convoy started the 2nd period very quickly and were soon 2 up after Barnett finished from close range. She grabbed her hat trick minutes later with another good finish from a Patton pass. Barnett found the bottom corner for her 4th on 48 minutes and completed a remarkable night when she scored a penalty to complete the scoring. Finn Valley stuck at their task, however, and almost got a consolation late on through Amelia McGahern.

Letterkenny Rovers 1-2 Milford United
A great game for a neutral. Lucy People’s was the hero for Milford with 2 wonderful goals early in the game. Letterkenny had a number of chances but could not make the breakthrough. Going in 2:0 down at halftime, the girls regrouped and came out the second half a different team. Chances fell to both teams, but Letterkenny pushed for a goal, creating
many chances, but Milford defended well. On the 47th minute, Chloe Strain pulled one back with an excellent finish. In the last 13 minutes, Rovers created more chances but again could not manage to get the equaliser. Milford nearly caught Rovers out on the counter, but Shalom Akpo and Emily Eze were outstanding at the back with help from hard-working midfielder Caitlin Crampsie. A special mention for all the girls that tried new positions for the first time. Both managers could not fault the girls for their efforts. Great game. Well done, everyone.

DWL U16 Match Reports 30/04/2025
Group 1:
Finn Valley 3-0 Donegal Town
On a very warm and beautiful evening at the Finn Valley Center, Finn Valley WFC entertained Donegal Town FC. From the first minute, Finn Valley got on the front foot and pushed the game towards the Donegal Town girls, who, with some good defensive work and goalkeeping, kept Finn Valley at bay. On the 18th minute, the deadlock was broken following some great possession play in the defence between Bronagh Gallen, Mary Kate McCormick, and Caoimhe Long of the Finn Valley that transitioned into midfield, where Sarah Campbell laid the ball off to Brooke Byrne, who calmly took control of the ball and took it around the oncoming Donegal midfielder, playing in a great through ball to Nicole Kelly, who beat the defence and scored into the top corner. Finn Valley got their second goal on the 24th minute when Mia McMullin capitalised on a mix-up in the Donegal defence and slotted the ball past the Donegal goalkeeper. Mia McMullin got her second of the game on the brink of halftime when, after some great build-up play by the Finn Valley midfield, Ella Udoku crossed the ball into the box, and Mia was first to react to put the ball in the net. Half time Finn Valley 3 – 0 Donegal Town. The second half started similar to the first half with Finn Valley forcing the play and creating chances, but the Donegal defence and goalkeeper were holding firm. Donegal Town started to come into the game more in the second half with them trying to counterattack Finn Valley. Finn Valley captain Bronagh Gallen led the defence, and with a last-ditch tackle, she kept Donegal at bay. Finn Valley kept making chances with a few shots from long range, but Donegal kept their defence strong. And near the end, Donegal counterattacked, and Michaela Hanafin broke the defence only to be taken down by the Finn Valley goalkeeper inside the box, resulting in a penalty being given. Michaela Hanafin stepped up, but despite the keeper going the wrong way, Donegal were denied by the post, and the Finn Valley defence cleared the ball away. Final Score Finn Valley 3 – 0 Donegal Town Referee Seamus McGrory
Convoy Arsenal 4-5 Drumbar United
The most entertaining game of football our U16 girls have ever had took place tonight in Orchard Park against a very strong and fit Drumbar United. It was back-and-forth battling right from the first whistle. First out of the block on the 25th minute was Jenna Doherty then three minutes later came Hannah McGowan. Back came Jenna again to take Convoy into the lead. A succession of goals was to follow, Drumbar on the 41st minute, April for Convoy on the 42nd, Jenna on the 43rd, and Drumbar on the 46th. Convoy held the lead the whole way through the game but just pipped on the 75th minute, Drumbar got ahead. It was a real battle throughout, and the girls played in high spirits under intense heat. The biggest battle of all took place between sisters Grace and Hannah McGowan. Speedy recovery to Amy Doonan, who took a nasty bang at last week’s match and had to bow out of play in the second half tonight. An amazing night’s football and a massive thanks to ref John Duffy. Well done to both teams, and thank you to Drumbar for being a respectful team to play against in good spirits.
St Catherines vs Raphoe Town (St Catherine’s win)
Group 2:
Gweedore Celtic vs Glenree (Gweedore win)
Keadue Rovers 2-0 Glenea United
Keadue Rovers got back to winning ways on a fine sunny evening at Central Park with a good win to secure a mid table spot in their group. The home side were quick out from the start pressing Glenea back, and in the first 5 minutes, had efforts on target from Ellie Bonner & Rebecca Reetsang. On eleven minutes, Ellie Bonner had a good effort saved, followed on sixteen minutes by Rebecca Reetsang, who shot wide on the run. Glenea were well pegged back at this stage, but Hannah Friel was proving a good outlet on the right wing. The home side continued to dominate and, on twenty two minutes, took the lead when Ellie Bonner rifled home a fine effort with her right foot. On the half hour, Keadue hit the post from a good effort on the left-hand side, and after the half hour, Glenea gained some more possession, but the Keadue backline stood firm and moved the ball swiftly to attacking positions. Keadue’s dominance was rewarded five minutes before halftime when Rebecca Reetsang’s effort with her left foot went past the keeper for 2-0, and it stayed like that at the break. The away side, as expected, started strong in the second half, pushing Keadue back. Keadue kept probing away, and another chance came to Rebecca Reetsang, but Elianne McFadden was alert in the Glenea goals. Keadue made a number of subs but still maintained good shape, and further chances fell to Sarah Harley and Ellie Bonner, but McFadden again saved those efforts. A very good effort from Keadue with good performances all round and plenty of confidence now going into Phase 2, while Glenea battled hard and also had a good opening phase. Referee : Thomas Ferry.
Group 3:
Bonagee United 0-2 Illistrin
Ballyraine 0-3 Mulroy Academy
Ballyraine welcomed Mulroy to Orchard Grove on Wednesday night. The first half seen a keenly contested battle all over the pitch however, the difference was 3 excellent strikes from Aisling Duffy. The first was from a free kick, and she completed her hat trick with left- and right-footed strikes from the edge of the box. No further goals in the second half with the Mulroy keeper and Saoise Wall in her first start for the U16s in top form. Best for Mulroy match winners Aisling Duffy and Kaycie Gallagher, with Emer Cassidy and Finlay Doherty impressing for the hosts.
Lagan Harps 0-5 Milford United
Milford proved too strong for Lagan on a really hot evening in Manor. Milford threatened from the start and opened the scoring through Amy Patton on ten minutes. They went 2-0 up minutes later through Lucy Sweeney. Lagan regrouped and came more into the game with Teaghan Doherty doing some good work down the right. However, Lucy Sweeney got a third just before the break. Lagan played better in the second half with Sinead Mc Loughlin, Amy Lateef, and Mikaela Breen getting through a huge amount of work against a really strong Milford midfield. Sinead Mc Loughlin and Jodie Rodgers went close with a few frees, but Megan McGinley had some excellent handling in the Milford goal. Ciara Cullen also pulled off a number of great saves throughout the game. As Lagan tired, Milford began to find more gaps with Lucy Sweeney completing her hat trick and Amy Patton grabbing her second. Lagan’s players deserve a lot of credit for the effort they put in, but Milford put in an excellent performance.

Bonagee welcomed Ballyraine to Dry Arch Park on a glorious evening. Bonagee started brightly, with Kaylah Pyper hitting the post after just 5 minutes. Bonagee broke the deadlock 5 minutes later through Tara McDaid. Ballyraine came into the game as the game went on, but the midfield trio of Reah Robinson, Ruby Sheridan, and Sarah Kelly were showing well for Bonagee, keeping Ballyraine at bay. The second half started the same as the first, with Tara McDaid turning provider for Ellie Scott just after the restart. McDaid then set up Hanna Stolarczyk 10 minutes after that to make it 3-0. McDaid then got another one for herself after she broke through the Ballyraine defence, finishing well past the Ballyraine keeper. Immediately after that, Eadaoine Kennedy pulled one back for Ballyraine. This put life into Ballyraine, pushing to pull the game back with Eadaoine Kennedy and Chloe Byrne showing well in attack, but Aine McDaid refused to be beaten again.
