The Road Victim Support Northern Ireland-Donegal has been selected as the chosen charity for this year’s Wilton Recycling Donegal International Rally.
The newly established charity says the collaboration is a powerful opportunity to promote life-saving road safety messages.
Launched in March this year, Road Victim Support Northern Ireland-Donegal supports families in the aftermath of losing a loved one in a fatal road traffic collision. The charity is chaired by specialist trauma and bereavement counsellor Debbie Mullan, who lost her son Keelan 12 years ago.
The charity says the visible presence of the logo on cars participating in the rally will be an excellent awareness exercise.
They said: “In a first-of-its-kind initiative, we will also be working directly with rally drivers to produce targeted road safety messages. These will be shared widely in the lead-up to and during the rally, reminding all road users, especially those travelling to the event and between stages, to drive with care, respect, and responsibility.
“We believe this collaboration will spark meaningful conversations about safety, responsibility, and community. The Donegal International Rally has a proud legacy, and we are proud to see that legacy now include a renewed focus on the lives impacted by road tragedies.”
