Residents of Rossnowlagh are reminding motorists that there are no-go zones on the beach for a reason.
The south Donegal surf spot is one of just a few beaches in Donegal which is open to cars in certain areas.
However, there are zones which are off-limits to vehicles due to soft sand.
After a van got stuck this week, the Friends Of Rossnowlagh volunteers are urging summer visitors to heed the signage.
“It happens more often than you’d think,” said a post from the group.
“Signs are there for a reason. Buoys aren’t for decoration (or dodgems). Rossnowlagh isn’t the Dakar Rally.
“Let’s stick to the car zoned areas and car parks, folks – the no car zone is strictly for feet, paws, boards, and buggies of the pushchair kind.”
Motorists are reminded that cars stuck in the soft sand can also fall victim to the tide.
Last month, Rossnowlagh was ranked in a list of the World’s Top 100 beaches by Corona beer.
Rossnowlagh, a surfer’s paradise on the Wild Atlantic Way, was one of the lesser-known spots on the elite list that features just 23 beaches in Europe.
