Donegal is sending an impressive contingent to the first round of the Community Games National Finals this weekend in Kilkenny.
Forty-four children, along with their families, will depart Donegal on Friday, 4th July and Saturday, 5th July, with their sights firmly set on winning medals.
County Manager Tony McCarry highlighted that one of the best things about Community Games is that there truly is something for everyone. “We have a great committee in the County,” he added.
Donegal boasts a strong and dedicated Community Games committee, including Chairman Manus O’Donnell, Secretary Sinead Hagan, and Treasurer Cathal Hagan, who is celebrating his 50th year with Community Games. Also on the committee are President Nancy McNamee, Games Committee members Elaine Hartin, Micheal Logue, Grainne McGuinness, Maura Gallagher, Catriona and Jennifer Hunter, and Laura Kerr. Ann Marie Cannon and Hillary Moore serve as Children’s Officers.
Both Manus O’Donnell and Cathal Hagan extended their best wishes to all the competitors and their supporters, and wished them safe travels.
