READERS are reporting icy patches on many roads across Co Donegal this morning after a sharp overnight frost.
Temperatures dropped to -4C in many inland areas.
Black ice has formed on many roads and is reported to be particularly bad in the Frosses, Glenties, Convoy and Ardara areas.
Minor roads across Inishowen are also said to be ‘dreadful’ after showers last night on the peninsula froze over later in the night.
Motorists are urged once again to drive with extreme care in the Ballyshannon area.
Donegal County Council workers have gritted major routes.
The cold snap is set to continue for several more days, said Met Eireann.
