The Minister for Communications Pat Rabbitte has given his seal of approval to Donegal Daily.
The Minister called into our offices at the CoLab Building on the LYIT Campus to see for himself how we keep Donegal people at home and abroad in touch with the news.
The Minister agreed that there is a rapid shift from traditional media onto on-line news and complimented the 35,000 visitors Donegal Daily is getting everyday.
The Minister was accompanied by Senator Jimmy Harte and Mayor Frank McBrearty.
Mayor McBrearty paid tribute to Donegal Daily’s service which he said was now a vital link to the Donegal diaspora around the globe.
“Donegal Daily is at the heart of life in Donegal and is helping to keep Donegal people around the globe in touch with what is happening here.
“It is important that people who have been unfortunate enough to find themselves having to emigrate be able to remain in touch with home and their families.
“Donegal Daily is doing that and we should not underestimate the role such media is playing in keeping those links alive,” he said.
