EXCLUSIVE: A campervan owner is fuming after being given a parking ticket for causing an obstruction – after parking in an empty carpark!

Mark Holloway and his family had been staying at the Lakeside Caravan Park in Ballyshannon.

Mark and his wife and four children decided to visit Bundoran on Sunday morning for a day trip.

He found an empty car park but was careful as he “saw the traffic warden going about.”

Mark paid the pay and display charge and went off with his family to enjoy themselves.

However when he returned he had been slapped with a €40 fine for obstructing other traffic.

A very angry Mark sought out the traffic warden and explained his situation but was told “it is not up to the county council to provide you with parking.”

Mark decided he would approach Bundoran Town Council directly but has still not received any satisfaction.

Despite two emails to the council, he has been told he is still “causing an obstruction.”

Mark said he accepts his vehicle was a little bit out at the rear but that he was not taking up more than one space (as our pictures shows).

“I will let your readers decide was they think but I think it is poor form.

“The car park was completely empty and it was Sunday morning.

“I have contacted Bundoran council but I have had no joy. This would certainly not encourage me to come back to Bundoran again,” he said.
