Aoife Keegan from Carton View in Blakestown will be competing in the Annual International Festival as this years’ Kildare Mary held in Dungloe on 26th July – 4th August.

Aoife (19) is currently studying Social Science in UCD and has strong Dungloe connections.

Aoife, whose mother is from Dungloe, said “It is a home away from home for me.

” I spent all of last Summer there and my love for the area grew”.

” My love for the county has grown so much and all my nieces and nephews are growing up there too.”

“I can’t put into words what it would mean to win. It’s the first time a member of our family has taken part in the event and to be chosen as The Mary from Dungloe and it would be a real honour and mean the world to me to win it.”
