LADIES GAELIC ROUND-UP: Donegal Senior Ladies staged a remarkable comeback to overcome Westmeath in the opening round of the Division 2 National League as an Amber Barrett goal double helped seal the win
The hosts led 0-07 to 0-02 at the break, aided by a stiff breeze.
But the Donegal ladies came flying back to tie the game mid-way through the second half as Milford’s Barrett netted and Eilish Ward kicked an equalising point.
New captain Niamh Hegarty was in superb form as she drove her side to victory with Barrett and Yvonne McMonagle adding two more goals to seal a 3-04 to 0-08 victory.
Elsewhere the county U16s had a good win over Down in Newry in a challenge match, whilst the U14s travelled to Swinford to record a victory over Mayo in a friendly.
