DONEGAL properties are set to go under the hammer at an Allsop Auction in Dublin this week.

Houses with reserve prices of just €20,000 are included in Thursday’s sale with homes in everywhere from Bundoran to Carrick to Ramelton up or for sale.

The sales are a reminder that the prices of some properties have yet to recover from the the downturn.

But many estate agents believe this will be among the last of the bargains as the property market begins to change upwards – with more rentals in future.

A house in Castlefin will have a reserve for just €20,000, whilst an apartment in Bundoran will be listed for €25,000.

In all 210 homes are up for sale with reserve values of more than €24 million.

The auction will take place in the RDS.

At least two houses in Raphoe will feature: one, a detached house in William Street with a reserve of €30,000; the other, a derelict semi-detached in Meetinghouse Street, which also has a reserve of €30,000.

A second floor two bedroom apartment at 215 Summerhill Apartments in Bundoran will be offered for €25,000.

And an end of house terrace at The Diamond, in Castlefin is one of the cheapest lots on offer at €20,000.

Several other Donegal properties with slightly higher reserves also feature including a semi-detached house in Forest Park, Killygordon for €65,000 and semi-detached house at Coylin Court, Ramelton for €60,000.

There is also a semi-detached three bedroom house at Ard Na Carraige, Carrick for€60,000 and a three storey mid terrace mixed use building in Castle Street, Ballyshannon for €55,000.

Jonathan Fenn, Divisional Director, said: “We have 213 lots for the first of three auctions over the next couple of months.

“A number of multi-family lots will undoubtedly draw interest from investors, given the asset management and development opportunities, which will bring much needed accommodation to families under pressure to secure a home.”
