Sensational second-half from Naomh Conaill stuns Four Masters

A blistering second-half performance from Naomh Conaill ensured they eventually seen off the challenge of a plucky Four Masters side – who gave the reigning champions a fright in the first-half.

Many GAA pundits had written off the chances of Four Masters causing an upset against Naomh Conaill, but they produced an excellent first-half performance to lead by two points at the break.

An early Leo McLoone goal gave Naomh Conaill a dream start – but Four Masters netted through Michael Doherty and powered into a half-time lead of 1-06 to 1-04.

However, Naomh Conaill regrouped at half-time, and introduced Leon Thompson, Eoghan McGettigan and Darragh Gallagher at half-time.

Their introduction changed the game, and Naomh Conaill netted four goals in a magnificent second-half to show that they’ve have no intentions of relinquishing their Donegal SFC title.

Goals from Leo McLoone, a brace from Ciaran Thompson and Brendan McDyer done the damage, which left Four Masters reeling.

Naomh Conaill face Gaoth Dobhair now next weekend, while Four Masters face Termon.

Final score: Naomh Conaill 5-12 Four Masters 1-11
