Buncrana musicians film music video in most unlikely place…

Buncrana duo Don’t Fear The Natives have filmed their new music video in the most unlikeliest of locations!

Featuring Claire McDaid on vocals and Denis Kelly on guitar, they’ve come up with the idea of recording acoustic tracks in the back of Claire’s campervan, as part of a unique series called The Folkswagon Sessions.

“We thought it would be a good idea to record a new tune we were working on – ‘Whose Side Are You On’ – in a completely different surrounding. The campervan’s interior was perfect…it looks great and sounds good.”

“The entire thing took 3 mins to record on an iPad and cost nothing. We thought we’d post it on the band’s Facebook page for a laugh, and within a day we were hitting 1,,000 views.”

“What started out as a crazy idea, has been brilliant as we’ve got the song out to thousands of people who otherwise wouldn’t have heard of us, locally and globally.”

“We’ve already planned on adding more songs to The Folkswagon Sessions, travelling to different locations around Inishowen and Donegal, highlighting the attractions and beauty of our amazing county, maybe even invite some fellow musicians to join us for a tune in the camper van.”

To keep up with Don’t Fear the Natives you can find them on Facebook.

Their upcoming gigs are;
30 Sept – Shindig@Voodoo, Letterkenny
1 Oct – The Exchange, Buncrana
2 Oct – The Village, Derry
