A Garda patrol car was in collision with another car in Burt last night.
Four people, including two Gardai, were taken to hospital as a result of the incident.
The incitent happened just after 10pm at the townland of Carrowamaddy.
It is understood that Gardai were carrying out an investigation when the accident occurred but is is understood the second car involved was not involved in that investigation.
The Garda Ombudsman are investigating the incident.
The road was closed for a number of hours but reopened at 2am.
