Letterkenny AC’s Danny Mooney made a welcome return to the track in Oordegem, Belgium yesterday.

Mooney clocked a fine 3 minutes and 42.74 seconds for the 1,500 metre event at the IFAM International Meet in Flanders.

Around 3,750 athletes took part in track events and Mooney was making a fine return to track action.

Mooney’s time was just 0.6 seconds off his personal best and just one second off a Commonwealth Games standard.
