Letterkenny Islamic Association have condemned that acts of terrorism committed on London Bridge and Borough Market on the 3rd of June.

Posting on their website the Association have said: “The incidents in London last night have left us shocked, disgusted, heartbroken and utterly devastated.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their loved ones.”

“The people who carry out these attacks have nothing to do with Islam. Their actions are completely opposed to the principles of Islam. They follow a twisted ideology a million miles away from the peaceful religion taught and practiced by the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims who continue to live peacefully and harmoniously with those around them.”

Eight people were killed and 48 were injured in the attack including four unarmed police officers who attempted to stop the assailants. The three attackers, who wore fake explosive vests, were all shot dead by police.
