Letterkenny’s new courthouse will be opened in December with the first cases expected to be heard before Christmas.
The multi-million euro courthouse is located on the site of the old Letterkenny Leisure Centre on the High Road.
The new courthouse, on the site bought by the Courts Service from the former Letterkenny Town Council for €3million, will consist of four courtrooms.
Donegal County Council is to retain ownership of the existing courthouse, though no plans for its use have been outlined.
The dates for the sittings in the new courthouse are expected to be confirmed later this month.
