Caolan McLaughlin victorious at Highland Radio Open Stableford

The Highland Radio Open Stableford took place at the weekend and with the course in excellent conditions, there was some great scoring recorded over the two days.

Caolan McLaughlin, who has just returned to golf after a few years of a break, made up for lost time by playing some tremendous golf to shoot 48pts and took the first prize with his nearest rival four points adrift.

The full results of the Highland Radio Open Stableford are as follows: 1 st Caolan Mc Laughlin (19) 48 pts, Paul Mc Daid (14) 44 pts, Gross Fiáchra O’ Flaherty (5) 64 gross, 3rd Jonny Morrison (12) 43 pts b.o.t.

It was a great weekend of golf as well as McLaughlin’s 48 pts, Fiáchra O’ Flaherty had a fantastic round of golf shooting a two-under gross score of 64 and Sean Quirke hit the perfect shot at the sixth hole to record a hole-in-one

Competition

The competition this weekend Saturday, September 8 and Sunday, September 9 will be the much anticipated Daniel Kearney Hon Vice President’s Open Stableford and there are some fantastic prizes on offer.

The entrance fee this week will be €7 for members, €15 for visitors or take the opportunity of availing of the Meal Deal, the entry fee for the same competition but with a meal deal will be €20 for members and €25 for visitors and it will include entry to the competition and a two-course meal in the award-winning
Drift Inn Restaurant after the golf.

Juvenile Lessons

The Juvenile Lessons are up and running again on Wednesday evenings from 5pm to 6pm and as usual Professional PGA Coach Derek Morrison will be in charge of the lessons. The lessons will run for the next few weeks at a cost of €5.00 per session and all boys and girls are welcome. There are another two Mondays sessions specifically for juveniles aged 12 or over and Professional PGA Coach Derek Morrison will be in charge of these lessons starting from 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

These lessons will run over Monday, September 3 and Monday, September 10 are being funded by O’ Flaherty’s Bar Buncrana and as a result, they will be free of charge to the participants.

Find the Joker Fundraising

The “Find the Joker” is up and running again with a Jackpot of €675, lines only cost €2 each and this draw is open to members and non-members alike. Lines can be purchased in the clubhouse or through chief seller Oliver Doherty.

Gary Gamble in The Plaza

The fabulously entraining Gary Gamble will be appearing in the Plaza Buncrana on Friday, September 7 with dancing to Off The Kuff. It promises to be a great night’s craic, doors open at 9pm and the entrance fee is only €10 and everyone is welcome.
