Fresh from their Irish Open win last weekend, Chloe and Sam Magee are back on the glory trail this week – and are through to the quarter-finals at the Scottish Open.

The Raphoe duo are pencilled in to face Tom Wolfenden and Jenny Moore.

The Magee were pushed all the way by French players Bastian Kersaudy and Anne Tran, before winning 25-23 20-22 21-16.

And they downed the English fifth seeds Ben Lane and Jessica Pugh 16-21 21-13 21-16.

Last Saturday, the Magees overcame Harley Towler and Emily Westwood 21-13 21-12 in the Irish Open final in Dublin.

Also in Glasgow, Joshua Magee and Paul Reynolds are in men’s doubles action today against Richard Eidestedt and Peter Kaesbauer after a fine 21-19 21-19 win over Bulgarians Alex Vlaar and Dimitar Yanakiev yesterday.

On Wednesday, Rachael Darragh was beaten by Abigail Holden 21-10 21-17 in the women’s singles.

Darragh and Paul Reynolds were edged by Brandon Zhi Hao Yap and Sian Kelly 21-19 21-17 in the mixed doubles qualification.

Injury struck Darragh in the women’s doubles, where she was playing with Sara Boyle, as she was forced out of the game with Delphine Delrue and Lea Palermo.

Joshua Magee took Kai Schaefer to three games in the men’s singles before losing out 19-21 21-13 21-15.
