MARK ENGLISH won the seventh Irish 800m title of his career this evening – and here’s how he did it.

The Letterkenny man clicked through the gears towards around the final bend to edge out John Fitzsimons from Kildare.

English, competing for UCD AC, won in 1:48.15 – his fastest Irish Championship-winning time – to seal a sixth title in a row.

Donegal athletes returned one gold and six silver medals from Santry.
