THE second round of the Mini-League took place last weekend and the format was a 2 ball betterball.

With the greens in excellent condition the opportunity was there for the pairings to return good scores.

The winter league winners Tony Hegarty (8) and Kevin McGrath (12) took full advantage and played some tremendous golf to shoot 45 points which was the best score of the weekend.

In this kind of form Tony and Kevin may well go on to win the Mini-League and achieve a remarkable double.

The format this weekend is a 2 ball scramble and a few pairings will be looking to improve their performance to get up that leader board and into the all elusive qualifying positions.

Congratulations to Graham Donaghy who got his first and that all elusive hole in 1 at the weekend. Graham was playing the 15th the 128 yard par 3 into a strong breeze when he hit the perfect iron shot to record his first hole in 1.

‘Twenties’ Competitions

The winner of the last 20’s competition was Seamus Mc Laughlin (12) with 23 points on a break of a tie from Martin Doherty (12).

The ‘Twenties’ competitions will continue over the next few months and will give members the opportunity to play competition golf throughout this period.

The cost will be €3.00 to enter and will run until 20 competitors play with the prize being won at this stage and a new competition will start straight away.
