Man pleads guilty to assault at Letterkenny supermarket

A Letterkenny man has pleaded guilty to a series of incidents which took place at a local supermarket.

Stephen Mongan pleaded guilty at Letterkenny Circuit Court to four charges including two assaults, the production of an article likely to cause harm, and the intimidation of a witness.

Mongan of 83 Meadowbank, Long Lane, Letterkenny, was charged with three of the offences at Simpsons Supermarket, Circular Road, on September 18th, 2019.

Another charge of intimidating a witness related to December 28th, 2019, when the accused admitted threatening or putting a potential witness in fear.

Defence barrister, Kelda Doherty, B.L., sought the preparation of a Probation and Welfare report to include a recommendation for community service.

The case was adjourned to the next session of Letterkenny Circuit Court in July.
