Deputy Thomas Pringle said he was delighted to be part of an event that celebrated Filipino nurses for their contributions to health services in Donegal over the past two decades.

Deputy Pringle attended last weekend’s event at the Villa Rose Hotel in Stranorlar, where he presented certificates of recognition to nurses who have been working in Donegal for 20 years.

The nurses arrived in Donegal in 2001, after a major hiring initiative by what was then the North Western Health Board.

Deputy Pringle said: “I was delighted to attend the event and to present certificates of recognition to Filipino nurses who have contributed hugely to our health services over the last 20 years. Well done, everyone, on a lovely event.”

The deputy said: “This is another example of the important contributions people from different countries have made and continue to make to our communities, our county and our country as our neighbours, family, friends and colleagues.”
