Donegal people are being urged to sign a petition to help save the beloved Choc Ice!
After over 60 years in Irish freezers the pops have been discontinued after falling in popularity, according to the makers HB Ice Cream.
Hundreds have added their name to a petition calling for the return of the summer favourite.
HB says the dessert is no longer being made as it is “no longer as popular as it once was.”
A spokesperson said the company is “sorry to disappoint Choc Ice lovers with the discontinuation of this ice cream, but we have found that it is no longer as popular as it once was.”
However, they urged Irish people not to sweat as they will continue to offer classics such as Iceberger, Brunch, and Loop the Loop The chocolate ice cream ‘Feast’ will also be saved.
Despite the reassurance, hundreds of devastated ice cream lovers have signed an online petition to “Bring back the Choc Ice.”
The petition, which sits at almost 1,200 signatures, asks “the people of Ireland to come together and make our voices known,” and keep Irish freezers choc-full of the once-popular pop.
